Why do you use gum paste for bows instead of fondant

Sweet Wise Response - Gum paste is basically fondant w/ tylose added to make the fondant more elastic. Soooooo, using gumpaste over fondant is beneficial for a couple reasons. Being more elastic, gum paste holds shape/form better. It also dries faster than fondant.
