After watching this video (but hadn't read the comments) I seasoned my new pro-MAT that I just bought. Please tell me I haven't wrecked it! I am very excited to try it out.

Sweet Wise Response - Although not necessary, it doesn't hurt it a bit, your new Pro MAT is fine.

I know you mentioned you could tell us how to fix it when we have created folds in the mat by rolling it wrong. I must have missed that. Is there a way to fix that?

Sweet Wise Response - Sure, just hang your MAT in a very warm room. THE MAT material has a "memory" and will return to its original shape. Unless you have a deep crease from folding it should be fine.

Can I use the mat with fondant made by me? I am very interested to get it.

Sweet Wise Response - Yes! THE MAT works great with all types of fondant. You may need to knead in a little extra powered sugar into your fondant if it sticks to THE MAT. Just test a small piece the size of your hand and adjust adding powdered sugar as needed.

I just received my Pro Mat and there was an instruction sheet that said to wash the mat in warm soapy water before first use. Should I do this or just season it the way the video says?

Sweet Wise Response - For the Original version you should season for first time use using a little shortening or vegetable oil. Seasoning THE Original version has nothing to do with how the fondant adheres or releases from THE MAT. It is only to prevent THE MAT from clinging to itself. Take a look at our Care and Cleaning Video

For the Pro and Home, you just need to wash and dry prior to first use. THE Pro and Home are cumbersome in a sink and the easiest way to clean is with a disinfecting wipe. Make sure you are using the correct side of THE Pro or Home MAT as explained in the video How to Cover a Cake with Fondant
