Can I place fondant on a cake that has been iced with buttercream frosting - and is cold? Someone said not to place fondant on a cold cake. Thanks so much.

Sweet Wise Response - Yes, you can cover a cold cake. The reason you might not want to though is that as the cake warms, the air inside (which is trapped by the fondant) will expand and likely create a bulge. This is easily solved by piercing the top of the fondant w/ a tooth pick which creates a vent for the expanding air to escape through.

Really like this video. You explain all the important details of what to do and not to and why and why not you should do them. I am a very green cake ( cuocake) decorator and always come back to your video's how how to do things. I am going to be ordering your mat in the near future.

what is the best way to practice with out baking all
the time

Sweet Wise Response - Covering Styrofoam (dummy) cakes is a great way to practice. With THE MAT though, you really shouldn't need to practice because THE MAT makes it sooooo easy.
